We have been building watches by hand in our Detroit studio since 2023, most of them fully custom pieces for companies, creators and collectors. More than 1,200 have been built so far. Sig 38 is the next step: a compact octagonal watch that follows our Signature 42 line, and our first project on Kickstarter.
Launch: Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 9 AM ET. The campaign runs for 30 days.

What Sig 38 is
Sig 38 is an analog digital watch in a brushed 316L stainless steel octagonal case. It measures 42.9 mm across the bezel and 11.2 mm thick, with a sapphire crystal and 100 m water resistance. Hands and a sub dial sit next to a digital window for the date, a second time zone, a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm, with an LED backlight and luminous hands.
Inside is a proven analog digital quartz module from Casio (GMA-S2100). We build the case, bezel, dial and bracelet around it, and every watch is assembled, tested and packed by hand in Detroit.

Made in Detroit
Modlab started by rebuilding and customizing watches one at a time for individual customers, and grew into a catalog of our own designs. Every Sig 38 is put together at our bench in Detroit and covered by a two year warranty that we handle ourselves. You can see an earlier example of that work in our collaboration with Supercar Ron.
Want to be there when it opens? Follow Sig 38 on Kickstarter and you will get an email the moment the first 38 spots go live.
